Big Boned by Meg Cabot (book 3 of Heather Wells series)
Synopsis
Life is reasonably rosy for plus-size ex-pop star turned Assistant Dormitory Director and sometime sleuth Heather Wells. Her freeloading ex-con dad is finally moving out. She still yearns for her hot landlord, Cooper Cartwright, but her relationship with "rebound beau," vigorous vegan math professor Tad Tocco, is more than satisfactory. Best of all, nobody has died lately in "Death Dorm," the aptly nicknamed student residence that Heather assistant-directs. Of course every silver lining ultimately has some black cloud attached. And when the latest murdered corpse to clutter up her jurisdiction turns out to be her exceedingly unlovable boss, Heather finds herself on the shortlist of prime suspects—along with the rabble-rousing boyfriend of her high-strung student assistant and an indecently handsome young campus minister who's been accused of taking liberties with certain girls' choir members.

As the other two Heather Wells novels did, this one certainly does entertain! I loved it a little more cause of the end as well ;) Hehe, can’t wait for the next two books in the series!

Bond, using help from Felix Leiter, Mathis and having Vesper pose as his wife, enters the most important poker game in his already dangerous career. But if Bond defeats Le Chiffre, will he and Vesper Lynd remain safe?
Thoughts
My first ever Bond movie! I was very satisfied by the thrills and story line. Daniel Craig was Mmmmmm! Will definitely watch another movie, can't believe I've been missing out on this. Note: especially love how they aren't *too* graphic with the violence.

Thoughts
Loved the main characters, especially Will Hyde. Action packed and thrilling, the story was not as well developed as Sparkles but a pretty good (and fast) read. Didn't want to put it down!

In Cabot's entertaining, if flawed, second cozy (after 2006's Size 12 Is Not Fat) to feature Heather Wells, a teen music idol turned student-life employee at NYU-like New York College, a cheerleader in Heather's dorm turns up dead—or, at least her head turns up, stewed almost beyond recognition in a cafeteria pot. Lindsay Combs was bubbly and popular, but as Heather digs deeper, she learns that Lindsay wasn't all sweetness and light. She slept around and was involved with obnoxious fraternity boys who made pin money dealing drugs. If solving Lindsay's murder isn't enough to keep Heather busy, her father, recently released after a 20-year prison sentence, shows up on her doorstep, looking for a renewed relationship and a place to stay. The roster of suspects is underdeveloped, and the denouement is both predictable and implausible, but Heather's charm and wit amply compensate.
Thoughts
Hilarious and I expected from the second book in the Heather Wells mystery series. I liked the characters (old and new) and the frat house element. The fact that Cooper and her still do not get together in this is annoying but has me waiting to read the next book!

After several female students turn up dead at the dorm, Heather takes on her own stealthy investigation and finds herself the target of the killer. In the first title in her Heather Wells series, Cabot combines a fairly straightforward mystery with a single-girl-in-the-city plot in which Heather triumphs over cheating guys, bad luck, and a fattist society. Most of the characters are two-dimensional, but Heather's strong, amusing voice, the plot twists, and the possibility of romance will draw mystery and chick-lit readers alike.
Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading this book because of the infusion of chick lit + mystery rolled into one. The main character is loveable as an ex-superstart singer (think Britney at 15 and before the drugs) who has lost control of her waistline (ooh fatty!). The mystery element adds in a touch of excitement; all in all, its one of the better reads out there in the chick lit genre when you want something funny and interesting.
